ENSC 2301L - Hazardous Materials Control & Emergency Response Lab


Description
Laboratory course for compliance with 29CFR 1910.120 Appendix E for Hazwoper- allows “Hands-on training” in simulated work environment that permits each student to have experience performing tasks, making decisions, or using equipment appropriate to the job assignment for which the training is being conducted.

Pre-Requisite
Completion of or in the process of completing ENSC 2303  with a grade greater than or equal to C.

Learning Outcomes
Students completing this course will:

  • Demonstrate donning and doffing of air purifying and supplied air respirators.
  • Demonstrate donning and doffing of personal protective clothing for hazardous materials response.
  • Identify and demonstrate the use of monitoring equipment for hazardous material incidents.
  • Apply the principles of hazardous materials response to practical field exercises.
