Description
An introduction to the causes and treatment of abnormal and aberrant behavior and developmental disorders, with special emphasis on society and the causes of criminal behavior.

Pre-Requisite
Completion of PSYC 2003  with a grade greater than or equal to C.

  • Recognize the major theoretical perspectives used to explain and treat psychological disorders.
  • Describe major psychological disorders.
  • Respect and use critical thinking, skeptical inquiry, and the scientific approach to solve problems related to behavior and mental processes
  • Understand some basic concepts in critical thinking, statistics, psychological assessment and research.
  • Discuss the role that culture, and environment can play in psychological assessment and treatment.
