RESP 2306 - Clinical Practicum I Description Students practice clinical skills that have first been demonstrated in the laboratory setting. Students will be under the direct guidance of supervisors and clinical instructors employed as respiratory therapists in the clinical affiliates. Emphasis will be on non-critical respiratory care.
Pre-Requisite Acceptance into the Respiratory Therapy program of study.

Learning Outcomes
- Defend the performance of Respiratory Therapy procedures using correct rationales, indications and contraindications.
- Reinforce each procedure in a way that patients can understand the procedure and its purpose.
- Evaluate existing patient data or collect additional data for evaluation and make recommendations in therapies.
- Choose the proper equipment, troubleshoot, perform quality control procedures and ensure proper infection control procedures.
- Perform therapeutic procedures under correctly, including initiation and modification of procedures
