Students completing this course will:

  • Explain basic polices and protocols involved in responding to a crime scene.
  • Describe the techniques involved in evidence processing, including submission to the state crime lab.
  • Discuss the basics of interview of witnesses and victims, and interrogation of suspects, and the difference between the two.
  • Explain the processes involved in proper searches and seizures.
  • Describe the various types of crimes committed and the particular issues that arise from investigating them. 
  • List the various sources of useful information related to conducting an investigation.
