ENSC 2413 - Envir Compliance Doc Description This course is an overview of the regulations which affect the environment. Federal regulations included are EPA, SARA, CERCLA, and RCRA. OSHA’s role in worker protection in environmental mishaps is also discussed. Available Online.

Learning Outcomes Students completing this course will:
- Explain how environmental laws and regulations are made, and how different levels of government are responsible for oversight and enforcement of regulations.
- Summarize the NEPA guidelines and regulations needed for working in the environmental field.
- Describe the environmental challenges and concerns within the Northwest Arkansas region.
- Discuss hazardous waste laws and regulations, and hazardous waste identification. Identify characteristics of hazardous waste identification.
- Identify and apply Clean Air Act laws and regulations, including the National Ambient Air Quality Standards and air pollution control technologies
- Interpret laws and regulations relating to surface waters, ground water, drinking water, and waste water discharges.
- Summarize laws and regulations relating to environmental releases (spills) of pollutants, and remediation of contaminated sites.
- Differentiate the principles of sustainability, pollution prevention, and environmental managements systems.
- Analyze, evaluate and solve problems of environmental management by applying their understanding of principles learned.
- Identify and use web based information sources to further their knowledge of emergency management.
