FDST 1733 - Event Planning Description This course offers an introductory view in the meetings and events industry. Students should expect to get a basic understanding of the elements of event planning. This course provides students with a practical introduction to the strategies and techniques event-planning professionals use to bring people together for meetings, conventions and non-traditional events. This course introduces students to front office management by detailing the flow of business through a hotel, from the reservations process to check-out and account settlement. The course also examines the various elements of effective front office management, paying particular attention to the planning and evaluation of front office operations and to human resources management.
