FDST 2543 - Specialty Coffee: Adv Brewing Description This semester long course offers a comprehensive look at brewing and coffee extraction. We will address best practices for brewing and explore higher level coffee extraction chemistry. The Brewing pathway of Specialty Coffee is designed to offer those with little to no previous coffee experience a progressive, approachable pathway to a professional level brewing certification. Students who complete this course will have a thorough understanding of the chemistry of coffee extraction, how to measure brewing variables, and use this knowledge to produce optimal extraction.
