HIM 2532 - Clinical Internship II


Description
The student will be given the opportunity to compare the educational experience of previous advanced courses with onsite and on-campus laboratory learning experience. Affiliation may be in local hospitals, long-term care, home health, state or federal agencies, clinic or community health agencies, or companies providing services. Full-time participation of the student is required.

Pre-Requisite
Acceptance into the Health Information Management program of study.

Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

  1. Apply knowledge and technical skills in the performance of clinical internship activities related to health information management in acute care facilities and alternative health care settings.
  2. Apply skills related to health information management roles in other disciplines, such as, quality improvement, performance improvement, medical staff credentialing, utilization review, risk management, and physician clinics.
  3. Expose students to emerging technology, regulations, and advances in the health information management profession.
