PLMB 1201L - Plumber Licensure I


Description
Plumber Licensure I is for individuals in a Registered Apprenticeship or equivalent pathway leading to plumber licensure. Registered Apprentices have 160 hours or less of Related Technical Instruction [RTI] and 2,000 hours or less of documented On the Job Training [OJT] or On the Job Learning [OJL].

Plumber Licensure I is a concurrent enrollment with Plumbing Skills I or equivalent to satisfy requirements for US DOL Registered Apprenticeship or equivalent plumber licensure pathway. PLMB 1201L requires licensure in the plumber trade supervised by a licensed Master Plumber. In this course the student will track their required OJT or OJL hours under the supervision of their licensed Master Plumber.

Employment as an Apprentice Plumber under the supervision of a licensed Master Plumber or equivalent

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, the student should be able to:

  • Demonstrate safe work procedures, proper use of personal protective equipment, and how tosafely work with plumbing materials under high supervision.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of basic plumbing principles and terminology.
  • Identify and safely use common plumbing tools and equipment.
  • Understand and apply relevant safety practices in plumbing work.
  • Interpret construction drawings and specifications in regard to plumbing work.
  • Install and repair various plumbing fixtures, components and piping with high supervision.
  • Apply mathematical calculations to plumbing projects.
  • Perform basic plumbing system maintenance and troubleshooting with high supervision.
  • Comply with relevant plumbing codes and regulations

  • Courses must, at a minimum, cover the core learning outcomes for each topic. Faculty mayadd to these outcomes, but may not omit any of them.
  • Lab safety and equipment orientation and enforcement of safety protocols is the responsibilityof each faculty member.
  • Since all general education outcomes are supported by specific course and programoutcomes, all instructors should include learning activities that develop these outcomes in theircourses and identify them in course syllabi. Grading guidelines

  • 90% score of all graded assignments = A
  • 80% - 89% score on all graded assignments = B
  • 70% - 79% score on all graded assignments = C
  • 60% - 69% score on all graded assignments = D
  • <60% score on all graded assignments = F
